A Brief Dissection

“The greatest hazard of all, losing one’s self, can occur very quietly in the world, as if it were nothing at all. No other loss can occur so quietly; any other loss - an arm, a leg, five dollars, a wife, etc. - is sure to be noticed.”
― Søren Kierkegaard, The Sickness Unto Death

I believe, as a human being, one of the single hardest and most frightening things we can do is take an honest look at ourselves.  We seem to have an uncanny ability to justify our wrongdoings and shortcomings without batting an eye.  We blame, we look past, and we deny.  Over the years, I've made a point to photograph myself during some of my most trying times in attempt to start an internal dialog, gain clarity, and a better understanding of my place in this chaotic whirlwind called existence.  I allowed my choice of medium and methods of execution to sway, as does my mood and temperament during these ebbs and flows of everyday life.
